US stocks close higher after Fed holds rates

Major stock markets in the United States closed higher at the end of Thursday's trading session with investors reacting to the Federal Reserve's decision not to modify interest rates and opting for a cautious outlook regarding potential rate cuts in the future. At the same time, traders looked at the latest US GDP data as well.

The Dow Jones advanced 0.38%. The Nasdaq 100 added 0.45% while the S&P 500 increased 0.53%.

On the currency front, the euro traded flat against the dollar, selling for $1.04077 at 3:28 pm ET.
