Alibaba Group's US-listed shares declined 2% after the company announced leadership changes.
The Dow Jones decreased by 0.27% or 91 points, the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.15% and the S&P 500 was down 0.20% at 4:03 am ET.
The euro was 0.14% higher than the dollar, changing hands for 1.09396 at the same time.
