Major US stock markets closed lower on Thursday after a new report showed that annual inflation eased to 2.4% in September, down from 2.5% in August.
Meanwhile, the Department of Labor also reported today that initial jobless claims increased to 258,000 for the week ending October 5, a jump of 33,000 from the previous week. In commodities, oil prices surged over 4%.
Dow Jones lost 0.14% at 10:00 pm ET, while Boeing declined 1.81%. The Nasdaq 100 fell 0.13%, and AMD was leading the flops, decreasing by 4.01%. The S&P 500 declined 0.21%, as First Solar dropped by 9.29%
The euro was flat against the dollar at 9:59 pm ET, selling for $1.09334.
