US surrenders gains, turns lower premarket

Major United States stock indexes turned red in the premarket trade on Friday after moving mostly higher earlier in the day. Tesla Inc. fell over 4% amid a report that it cut down its production in China as demand for electric vehicles slowed down. In economic news, Fed Chair Jerome Powell will deliver a speech before the markets open.

The Dow Jones lost 0.11% at 8:07 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 decreased by 0.30% and the S&P 500 fell by 0.16% at the same time.

The euro traded 0.39% lower compared to the dollar and sold for 1.08179 at 8:08 am ET.

Markets on Wall Street continued to soar following United States President Donald Trump's decision to pause reciprocal tariffs on most countries for 90 days and enact a 10% tariff on those countries during the period.The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared 7.23% or 2,725 points at 2:19 pm ET. The Nasdaq 100 rallied 9.60% at 2:22 pm ET and the S&P 500 surged 7.89% at the same time.The euro was down 0.16% against the dollar to go for 1.09428 at 2:24 pm ET.

The United States stock markets continued to thrive on Wednesday as United States President Donald Trump dropped a bombshell, stating that tariffs on most countries will be postponed, while duties on China will be hiked to 125%.The Dow Jones soared 5.91% or 2,250 pts at 1:32 pm ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 shot up 8.10% and the S&P 500 skyrocketed 6.70%.The euro traded 0.16% above the dollar at 1:33 pm ET, going for 1.09664.
