UK police asks for 'minimal reference' in No. 10 parties report

The Metropolitan Police announced on Friday it has asked for "minimal reference" to the parties that allegedly took place at 10 Downing Street during the lockdown the United Kingdom was in back in 2020 to curb the spread of COVID-19 to avoid it having an effect on the force's own investigation.

"The Met did not ask for any limitations on other events in the report, or for the report to be delayed, but we have had ongoing contact with the Cabinet Office, including on the content of the report, to avoid any prejudice to our investigation," the police said in a statement.

The news comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson asserted the report on the investigation conducted by Cabinet Office Second Permanent Secretary Sue Gray will be published "in full."
