Major stocks on Wall Street turned to gains after trading below the flatline ahead of the opening session on Thursday, as investors awaited the latest update on the country's jobless claims, followed by the existing home sales report for July.
Previously, the Federal Reserve's July meeting minutes revealed that the market's conditions will define the course of future anti-inflationary actions, suggesting that rate increases may "at some time" slow down.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up by 0.12% at 7:38 am ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P rose by 0.18% and 0.10% respectively. The euro gained 0.07% against the greenback, going for $1.01875 at 7:39 am ET.
