US turns to losses in premarket trade

Major stock indexes in the United States surrendered their slight gains ahead of the opening bell on Monday with the possibility of further interest rate hikes worrying the markets. On Friday, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco President Mary Daly said it is unlikely the US will return to a 2% inflation target in 2024, advising patience regarding future monetary policy decisions.

The Dow Jones lost 0.21% at 8:15 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 decreased by 0.26% at the same time, and the S&P 500 dropped 0.25%.

The euro traded 0.14% lower against the dollar, selling for 1.06324 at 8:16 am ET.
