US up in premarket ahead of housing data

Equities in the United States traded higher in Friday's premarket as investors assessed how the incoming report on housing starts and the new ones on home builder confidence and initial jobless claims could affect the Federal Reserve's next step on interest rates.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average grew by 0.09% at 4:10 am ET. At that minute, the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.51%. The S&P 500 rose by 0.22%.

The euro increased by 0.12% against the dollar at 4:10 am ET to sell for $1.08444.
