Stock indexes in the United States traded higher ahead of Wednesday's session with investors focusing on earnings. Netflix jumped over 14% in premarket trade after it revealed a jump in subscriptions in the fourth quarter, while United Airlines gained over 3% after its earnings report. Today's schedule will bring quarterly figures by Johnson and Johnson, GE Vernova, Halliburton, Procter & Gamble and Abbott Labs, among others. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump confirmed plans to impose tariffs on goods from China and the European Union.
The Dow Jones gained 0.18% at 4:32 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 was up by 0.87% and the S&P 500 added 0.43%.
The euro traded flat against the dollar, going for 1.04325 at 4:33 am ET.
