United States Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Linda Thomas-Greenfield (pictured) told the UN Security Council (UNSC) that her country has "made clear" to Israel that it must take all the possible measures to avoid civilian casualties while combating Hamas in Gaza.

Thomas-Greenfield insisted that the US continues to seek to have more humanitarian aid enter and be distributed in the Gaza Strip. She added that Washington DC was given information the UN's convoy carrying help will be able to use a new transportation route in the southern part of the region.

The diplomat's statement came after the report US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin reportedly warned Israel to enable more aid to reach Gaza or risk new weapon deliveries.
