US: JCPOA not on agenda right now

Negotiations about the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA or the Iran nuclear deal) are "just not on the agenda right now," United States National Security Council chief spokesman John Kirby noted on Wednesday.

Washington is still looking for a diplomatic solution and will never allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, Kirby confirmed at a White House press briefing. Iran did not "negotiate in good faith" to reach a diplomatic solution and, given its domestic turmoil and its support to Russia, the US decided to not prioritize those negotiations, the White House official said.

His comments follow a media report that claimed that Tehran enriched uranium reportedly 23 times over the limit outlined in the JCPOA.
