The United States Postal Service (USPS) said in a notice on its website that it has temporarily suspended the acceptance of international packages from China and Hong Kong Posts until further notice.
The flow of letters and flats from China and Hong Kong will not be impacted, the USPS added. The cause for the suspension wasn't immediately clear and the notice gave no further information.
The move came after Beijing announced counter-tariffs on Tuesday, in response to the 10% tariffs on Chinese goods imposed by US President Donald Trump's administration.
