United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai raised concerns over China's economic policies during her Friday meeting with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao.
"Ambassador Tai highlighted the need to address the critical imbalances caused by China's state-led, non-market approach to the economy and trade policy ... She also raised concerns about PRC actions taken against US companies operating there," the USTR's statement noted following the discussion held at Detroit's Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference.
Beijing confirmed earlier today that it has agreed to increase communication with Washington to solve issues weighing on their bilateral trade relations.
