Uber, Ola deny report of merger negotiations

Uber and its Indian rival Ola denied on Friday a previous report by Economic Times, which stated they were negotiating a merger.

"That report is inaccurate. We are not, nor have we been, in merger talks with Ola," said Uber in a statement.

Ola's CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said on Twitter that the report is "absolute rubbish," and that the company is profitable and growing well. He added that he would welcome the announcement of other companies leaving India as Ola will "never merge."
