Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated on Saturday that Russian President Vladimir Putin's words "cannot be trusted" after the latter declared a 30-hour ceasefire in the conflict with Ukraine.
"Putin has now made statements about his alleged readiness for a cease-fire. 30 hours instead of 30 days. Unfortunately, we have had a long history of his statements not matching his actions. We know his words cannot be trusted and we will look at actions, not words," Sybiha said in a post on X.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian top diplomat insisted that Russia refused the United States' proposal for a 30-day full ceasefire that "has been on the table since March," pointing out that the war between the two countries "began and continues only because of Russia."
