Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko (pictured) said on Wednesday that her country is "ready to negotiate - but not to surrender."
In a post on X, Svyrydenko stressed that a full ceasefire, not a partial one, is necessary to stop the Russian offensive and prevent Russia from regrouping and returning "with greater violence."
The official underlined that Kiev will not accept "a frozen conflict" to be considered as peace, and ruled out the possibility of recognition of Russia's annexation of the peninsula of Crimea. "If NATO membership is not granted, Ukraine will require binding security guarantees - ones strong enough to deter future aggression, and clear enough to ensure lasting peace," she added.
