Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said on Wednesday that there has been "significant progress" in negotiations on a minerals deal and the creation of an investment fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine with the United States. She added that she expects the agreement to be formalized with a memorandum of intent in the near future.
"The teams will continue working on specific points in the agreement. A lot has already been worked out, and the overall quality of the agreement is expected to be high," Svyrydenko said, adding that the deal will have to be approved by the Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada.
