Ukraine has firmly insisted that Russia "must be held accountable" for the deadly crash of an Azerbaijani passenger plane, following reports that a Russian air defense missile was involved in the incident. Andriy Yermak (pictured), chief of staff to Ukraine's president, expressed on Friday condolences to the victims' families and emphasized that Russia should bear responsibility for downing the aircraft.
Earlier, Andrii Kovalenko from Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation claimed that Russia's air defense systems had damaged the Azerbaijan Airlines plane, leading to its crash in Kazakhstan.
Additionally, unnamed Azerbaijani officials confirmed to Anadolu Agency that the plane was struck by a Russian missile. The crash has raised serious concerns about the safety of civilian flights in conflict zones.
