The Ukrainian Finance Ministry announced on Monday that the country has received a total of $1.34 billion from the United States, Japan, Norway, and Switzerland through the World Bank's PEACE project. The initiative aims to raise and distribute funds for purposes other than security and defense.
The ministry stated that these resources will mainly serve to offset state budget expenses in the country, including payments for old-age social benefits and salaries for employees of the State Emergency Service (SES).
"International financial assistance is a significant contribution to maintaining Ukraine's financial and economic stability and allows us to provide priority social expenditures during the war. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the governments of Japan, the United States, Norway and Switzerland have repeatedly demonstrated their unwavering support and solidarity for Ukraine," Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko noted.
