Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar (pictured) on Monday acknowledged that Kiev's ongoing military campaign faces significant challenges, as Russia exerts its efforts to impede the counteroffensive.

Maliar stated that while Ukrainian forces are making advancements in several directions in the south, the enemy is focusing its efforts in the east. "The enemy will not give up positions easily and we must prepare for the fact that it will be a tough duel," she said, adding that "that's exactly what is happening."

She further highlighted that the Ukrainian military is working to fulfill multiple objectives and that everything is moving as planned.
