Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba (pictured left) said on Thursday that Ukraine sees Turkey as one of the countries that could act as guarantors of peace between Kiev and Moscow. Speaking at a press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu (right), Kuleba noted Turkey's "active role" in brokering a peace agreement and its "great authority and prestige that provides stability in the Black Sea region."
Kuleba also said Turkey and Ukraine will work on organizing a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Cavusoglu added that Turkey's "hope for a ceasefire has increased a little more" after his visit to both Russia and Ukraine. "There is a possibility that the two leaders will come together if there is an agreement on the issues that we see as rapprochement."
