Ukraine shoots down missiles over Kiev - mayor

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the Ukrainian forces have shot down several rockets flying over the capital city.

"Several rockets flying towards Kyiv were shot down by air defense forces in the region," Klitschko said, calling on the residents of the city to stay in shelters and limit the use of electricity.

The news comes after the Ukrainian energy operator said several of the country's energy facilities were struck by missiles.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that the military took control of the settlements of Yantarnoye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Kalinovo in Ukraine's Kharkov region."Battlegroup West units liberated the settlement of Kalinovo in the Kharkov Region as a result of decisive offensive operations.
