Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture shared on Wednesday that a "considerable" part of the grain export infrastructure was damaged during Russia's attacks on the Chornomorsk and the Odessa ports.
Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Mykola Solskyi revealed in a statement that according to estimates, "it will take at least a year to fully restore the objects that were damaged," adding that in the Chornomorsk port alone 60,000 tons of grain were destroyed.
"The grain infrastructure of international and Ukrainian traders and carriers Kernel, Viterra, CMA CGM Group was the most affected," Solskyi said. He further underlined that this is not only a "terrorist act against Ukraine but against the whole world." The minister reiterated that should the food export fail, "the population of the poorest countries will be on the verge of survival."
