Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Wenbin announced on Monday at a press briefing that China will be sending an additional $1.6 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

"The Chinese government has decided to provide Ukraine with an additional batch of humanitarian aid worth 10 million yuan ($1.6 million)," stated Wenbin, adding that China wants to have "a constructive role in smoothing out the humanitarian situation in Ukraine."

Earlier, the Chinese ambassador debunked the United States' claims that the country is providing Russia with weapons, asserting that China will do their best "to deescalate the crisis."
