Vance arrives in Rome for Meloni meeting

United States Vice President JD Vance arrived in Rome on Friday where he is set to meet Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni later in the day.

During his trip to Italy, Vance is also expected to meet Vatican's Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin.

The visit comes just a day after Meloni's trip to Washington DC, where she held talks with US President Donald Trump, during which Trump expressed hope the US and the EU can strike a trade deal by the end of the 90-day reciprocal tariff pause.
