United States Vice President JD Vance recalled an unexpected interaction when he was in the Oval Office with President Donald Trump. In a pre-recorded Fox News interview that aired on Wednesday, Vance described how Trump, while discussing matters with Senators John Thune and House Speaker Mike Johnson, casually pressed a red button on his desk.

Vance laughed as he recalled his initial concern when Trump pressed the button, only to find out it was part of a lighthearted routine. Vance said he initially thought something serious had occurred but soon learned it was just a request for a Diet Coke.

"I mean, I'm like, 'Sir, did something bad just happen?' and he's like, 'No, I just ordered the Diet Coke,'" Vance said.
