United States Vice President JD Vance announced on Tuesday that his country and India "have finalized terms of reference for a trade deal."

In a public speech during his visit to India, Vance noted that the US and India will jointly produce defense equipment and called on India to purchase more US military equipment. He further revealed that the two countries will also cooperate on energy and technological projects. "I think that our nations have so much to gain by investing in one another," he stated, claiming that the cooperation between India and the US will be "a win-win partnership."

In addition, the vice president said that US President Donald Trump wants to "rebalance global trade" and create a new trade system based on "fairness."
