Vanguard CEO Buckley to retire

Investment management advisor The Vanguard Group, Inc. announced Thursday that Mortimer "Tim" Buckley will retire at the end of 2024 after six years as the CEO of the company. Greg Davis, today's Chief Investment Officer will also take on the role of president.

Commenting on Davis' appointment, Buckley highlighted that "he will effectively leverage his deep investment expertise and partner with our senior team to help accelerate our business and uphold Vanguard’s passionate focus on our investors." He added that Davis' "outstanding record of delivering for our clients" will keep pushing the company's leadership in the investment sector. "He is a well-respected leader in our industry who is frequently sought out by policymakers and who advocates for regulatory changes to benefit everyday investors," he noted.

As per data from April 2023, Vanguard manages nearly $7.7 trillion in global assets.
