Verizon Communications Inc. revealed on Monday the company's plans around America's major sporting event Super Bowl LV, which includes investing $80 million into permanent 5G cellular network enhancements and building 70 miles of high-speed fiber and 281 antennas - all to provide better broadcasting to the game viewers at home.
"We're excited to bring 5G to Raymond James Stadium, home of Super Bowl LV. As the number of arenas and stadiums with Verizon 5G continues to grow, we’re seeing how our technology brings a new dimension to all aspects of the fan experience, from public safety to how fans interact with the action on the field," said Kyle Malady, Verizon's chief technology officer.
Verizon will also be showing the game with immersive and interactive features through the NFL app. As a separate project, Verizon has built a stadium in the Fortnite videogame for additional entertainment activities with football players. For after-game experience, Verizon is hosting a music concert in support of small business with famous performers, like Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus.
