Verizon Communications Inc. introduced a new streaming services bundle on Wednesday that will offer its users access to Netflix Premium and STARZ together for $25.99 per month.
The new Netflix-STARZ package may be accessed through Verizon's web portal, +play, which enables customers to consolidate their streaming subscription services. Furthermore, Verizon subscribers who have myPlan can use the myPlan monthly +play benefit to receive an extra $5 off the new deal, making $15 in +play available for just $10. "We're using our strategic relationships with the biggest players in the content industry to continue to unlock more savings for customers," Verizon said.
Shares of Verizon were down 1.93% following the news. At 2:30 pm ET, Netflix's stock rallied 11.78%, while shares of Lions Gate Entertainment Corporation, the company behind American premium cable provider STARZ, were down 0.24%.
