Vincent Clerc named Maersk's new CEO

Vincent Clerc (pictured right) has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AP Moller-Maersk, the Board of Directors informed Monday while also announcing that previous CEO Soren Skou (pictured left) is retiring.

"Companies are rethinking their supply chains in this new environment; they are looking for more stability and more support on their decarbonization journey. This represents an incredible business opportunity for Maersk that we all are eager to seize," Clerc said while commenting on his new role and vision for the company.

Meanwhile, the board highlighted the positive impact of Skou as the former CEO of the group, along with his vision and strategy for executing "complex plans" and delivering "long-term shareholder value.
