The week ahead will be filled with high-profile events, with the inauguration of United States President-elect Donald Trump in the spotlight.
On Monday, Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States with many top political leaders and businessman, including Meta Inc.'s CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon.com Inc.'s founder Jeff Bezos, expected to attend the event. Trump's inauguration will be held inside the Capitol building due to the forecast of extremely cold weather, will be the first time in 40 years that the presidential swearing-in ceremony will not be held outside the Capitol.
Additionally, the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, will take place from January 20-24 and gather world leaders to discuss global, regional and industry agendas. Trump is expected to virtually address the forum on January 23.
On the economic front, the People's Bank of China is expected to unveil its latest monetary policy decision on Monday. In addition, the Bank of Japan will disclose its policy decision on Friday, with analysts forecasting that it will opt for an interest rate hike.
