White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre urged the United States Senate to vote in favor of the $1.2 trillion funding bill "as quickly as possible."

"This bill is a compromise reached by congressional appropriators so no side got everything it wanted ... We fought hard for additional resources and we were successful in preventing Republicans from severely underfunding DHS," the press secretary remarked during a press conference.

Earlier, the House of Representatives passed the bill, which now awaits a vote in the Senate.
