United States National Security Council (NSC) spokesperson Adrienne Watson expressed hope that prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas will begin on November 24 as the parties involved work out "final logistical details," CNN reported.
"The deal was agreed and remains agreed. It is our view that nothing should be left to chance as the hostages begin coming home. Our primary objective is to ensure that they are brought home safely," Watson said.
Namely, a high-ranking US official informed CNN that the choice to postpone the hostage release date by a day was undertaken to minimize potential risks, stressing that Qatar and Egypt participated in the decision-making process and that Washington was briefed and approved of the proposal.
