Consumer confidence in Japan down in November

Japan's Consumer Confidence Index stood at 28.6 in November, decreasing by 1.3 points compared to the previous month, the country's Cabinet Office reported on Thursday.

The overall livelihood category lost 0.8 points in comparison to October to land at 26.5, as the income growth index came in at 34.2, down by 1.1 points. The employment index fell by 1.9 points to 32.4, while willingness to buy durable goods declined by 1.1 points to 21.4.

The percentage of survey respondents who expect prices to increase a year ahead was 94% in November, down 0.3 percentage points from the month prior. Meanwhile, 1.9% of those surveyed see them unchanged, 0.2 percentage points higher than in October and 2.5% expect prices to fall, representing a 0.2 percentage points increase from the previous month.
