United States President Joe Biden discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the start of training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets, the White House revealed in a readout of the call between the two.
In addition to this, the two heads of state also talked about the "assurance of expedited approval for other nations to transfer their F-16s to Ukraine upon completion of training to increase Ukraine’s defensive capabilities," the White House shared.
Biden congratulated Zelensky on Ukraine’s Independence Day, reaffirming Washington's support for the country in its fight against "Russian aggression."
