The United States Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will continue its mission after billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk parts ways with the government, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Thursday at a press conference.

When asked about the future leadership structure of the department, she revealed that the "entire cabinet" is involved. "I spoke to [US President Donald Trump] about it. The entire cabinet understands the need to cut government waste, fraud and abuse. Each cabinet secretary and their respective agencies are committed to that. That's why they were working, hand in hand, with Elon Musk, and they will continue [to do so] with the respective DOGE employees," she detailed.

Earlier, Musk announced he will be leaving his position as the DOGE head and thanked Trump for the opportunity "to reduce wasteful spending."
