White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed on Monday that France should be very grateful for the assistance the United States has provided in the past.

"It's only because of the United States of America that the French are not speaking German right now, so they should be very grateful," she stated during a press conference, reaffirming that reciprocal tariffs will go into effect on April 2. Her comment comes amid growing tensions between Washington and Paris over trade policies and tariffs.

In other news, she also announced that Trump is set to visit the Kennedy Center to promote the restoration of "arts and culture that embrace American tradition."
