White House National Security Communications Advisor, John Kirby, mentioned on Wednesday that Washington does not have information that indicates a serious escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. However, he admitted that the recent events, in which a Hezbollah commander and Hamas leader were killed, do not help in reducing tensions in the region.

Questioned about both deaths, Kirby said that even though he has seen Hamas statement, his administration “can’t confirm or verify” the recent developments that worldwide media have followed involving Israeli forces. "We leave it in ‘an escalation is inevitable and there's no signs that an escalation is imminent," he stressed.

Kirby’s comments come after the US advised its citizens against travel near Israel-Lebanon border.
