Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese (pictured) told reporters on Monday that he has already made it clear that he does not support the ongoing pursuit of Julian Assange, co-founder of WikiLeaks and an Australian citizen.
Nevertheless, Albanese added that although he stands by his previous comments he refuses to publicly demand of the United States to stop the prosecution. "There are some people who think that if you put things in capital letters on Twitter and put an exclamation mark, then that somehow makes it more important. It doesn’t."
"I intend to lead a government that engages diplomatically and appropriately with our partners," concluded Albanese. Previously, United Kingdom Home Secretary Priti Patel shared that the country authorities decided to clear the extradition of Assange to the US.
