WH: POTUS not briefed yet on Trump investigation

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated at a press conference on Monday that United States President Joe Biden has not been briefed by either the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) or the Department of Justice (DoJ) on the investigation into the documents the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) seized from his predecessor Donald Trump's private residence in Mar-a-Lago.

Asked about whether the president will be briefed eventually and if the results of the probe will be announced to the public, Jean-Pierre insisted the White House and Biden's administration will not be commenting on an "ongoing criminal investigation" until it is concluded. "It's important to have transparency, but we're just not going to comment further than that," she said.

Earlier in the day, National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby stated the White House is not involved in the investigation into whether the documents taken from Trump's home could pose a security threat to the country.
