White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Thursday that United States President Donald Trump "expressed his displeasure and his disagreement" with the United Kingdom, French, and Canadian leadership over their intention to recognize the Palestinian state.

"He feels as though that is rewarding Hamas at a time where Hamas is the true impediment to a ceasefire and to the release of all of the hostages," she commented during a press briefing.

Leavitt reiterated that the US head of state wants to see "all of the hostages released." Earlier, she announced that United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff will be visiting Gaza on August 1.
