United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff will travel to Gaza on August 1 to oversee the food distribution process, the White House confirmed on Thursday.
The envoy "had a very productive meeting" with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today, focusing on delivering food aid to Gaza, the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the media in a regular briefing. She also noted President Donald Trump's Truth Social post that said the fastest way to end the Gaza war is for Hamas to surrender.
It was previously reported that Witkoff's talks with Netanyahu also had Gaza ceasefire, the release of hostages, and Iran on the agenda.
