United States stock markets closed in the green on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve revealed comments policymakers made during their previous meeting last month. Central bankers vowed to fight off potentially persistent "elevated inflation pressures" with an "even more restrictive" policy. Elsewhere, the White House is reportedly preparing President Joe Biden's trip to Saudi Arabia that could center on oil production talks.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average index closed with a 0.23% or a 70-point gain as UnitedHealth rose by 1.99%. The Nasdaq 100 increased 0.62% at the close pushed up by Lucid Group's 5.75% jump. The S&P 500 was 0.36% higher at the end of trading with Northrop Grumman, its best performer, up 3.77%.
The euro was 0.79% lower compared to the dollar, going for 1.01852 at 3:59 pm ET.
