Major United States stock exchanges continued to fall deeper into the red territory on Friday with traders fearing the conflict in the Middle East might spread further. The latest consumer inflation digits in the US, alongside earnings reports, also affected the market mood.
The Dow Jones slid 1.32% or 507 points at 1:46 pm ET. A minute later, the Nasdaq 100 tanked 1.63% or 299 points and the S&P 500 flopped 1.42%.
The euro traded 0.72% below the dollar at 1:48 pm ET, changing hands for 1.06495.
