US stock markets traded lower in the premarket session of Thursday amid the release of new corporate earnings and ahead of a new batch of economic data to be published today.
Investors are braced for the new reports on jobless claims and housing in the country amid the increasing fear over a possible recession provoked by the hawkish path the US Federal Reserve may take to tackle inflation. Yesterday, after the close, Tesla Inc. reported that its total revenues soared 56% year over year in its last quarter, while IBM's revenue stood at $14.1B, up 6% YoY.
The Dow Jones lost 0.25% at 4:30 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 fell 0.94%, and the S&P 500 declined 0.63%. The euro was flat against the dollar at 4:31 am ET, selling for $0.97770.
