Wall Street mostly lower premarket ahead of data

Major US stock markets traded mostly lower Friday ahead of the publication of new economic data. Markets will close the following Monday, December 26, for the Christmas holiday.

The day will bring fresh figures on consumer sentiment to be published by the University of Michigan and new home sales while markets remain stalled between a bullish economic outlook and fears of a possible recession next year.

The Dow Jones was flat at 4:30 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 fell 0.20%, and the S&P 500 declined 0.08%. The euro improved by 0.07% against the dollar at 4:27 am ET, selling for $1.06051.
