Wall Street rises on tech stocks, trade war updates

Wall Street indexes rose on Thursday as tech stocks boosted the market. Leading tech companies including Nvidia, Meta, Amazon, Tesla, and Microsoft each gained approximately 2%. Semiconductor manufacturers Microchip Technology Inc. and ON Semiconductor surged by 10.48% and 7.67% respectively during the session.

Meanwhile, investors remained focused on developments in international trade relations. Chinese officials stated that no trade negotiations were currently underway with the United States, as Ministry of Commerce representative Guo Jiakun dismissed reports of progress in bilateral discussions. He further urged for the removal of "unilateral" trade barriers.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.73% or 290 points at 10:42 am ET. Simultaneously, the Nasdaq 100 improved by 1.85% or 346 points and the S&P 500 jumped by 1.32%. The euro increased by 0.59% against the dollar at 10:43 am ET to sell for $1.13788.
