Major stocks on Wall Street turned to gains after opening below the flatline on Monday ahead of the week of corporate earnings. Following the news that Third Point Management has acquired a new stake in Walt Disney Co., the company's shares jumped over 2%.
Earlier, the 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden, claimed that since taking office in 2021, his economic plan has helped the nation create 9.5 million jobs, bringing the unemployment rate to a 50-year low.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.28% or 95 points at 12:03 pm ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 increased by 0.45% and 0.17% respectively. The euro dipped 0.77% against the dollar going for $1.01791 at 12:07 pm ET.
