Walmart has been in talks with leading media companies over the inclusion of streaming entertainment in its membership service, The New York Times reported on Tuesday, citing three sources familiar with the matter.
In the past few weeks, senior executives from Paramount, Disney, and Comcast have been in contact as the retailer considers which movies and TV shows would add the most value to its membership package, Walmart+. The said package currently costs $12.95 per month and includes free shipping for orders, discounts on fuel, and a free six-month subscription to Spotify Premium.
At this moment, it is not clear if any of the streaming companies are decided to reach a deal with Walmart.
